![]() I haven't had any issues with water getting in, and you can wipe any moisture off in a single pass afterwards. I've taken it out in the rain a few times when I take the dog for a walk, and it has held up well. It looks nice too, especially from a distance. The X-Pac material is genuinely kind of delightful to touch? It's cool and smooth, and it might be my favorite feature. The materials are all high quality, and the stitching and seams are all very clean. ![]() The main compartment zipper is buttery smooth, and that's where all the action is. The associated zipper pulls are thoughtfully placed and make it a lot less annoying than it could be. I don't find it to be a problem, but it is worth mentioning. I only use that compartment for my keys, so unlike the main pocket that has all the stuff I access frequently, I don't open it as often. The main aquagard zipper on the front compartment (that contains the key leash) is a little stiff. The X-Pac material is a little stiff, but it is not loud or crinkly at all. I have to say that this is the one common complaint that I don't see any merit to whatsoever. One of the more common criticisms I see when comparison reviewing is that the X-Pac material has a sort of 'crinkle' sound. This is a minor annoyance, but it is something to be aware of. If you are wearing it 'purse' style, or just on the side or lower back of your body, bending over can mean the bag will rotate along its sling to be in front of you if you don't go out of your way to balance it first. That said, it does lead me to my main gripe, which is that the bag (particularly in X-Pac, I would imagine) is prone to slipping. I don't mind it much, and the structure of the bag is something I rather like (more on that later). If you are a person that likes to feel the full length of the bag conform to your body, this can be kind of annoying. When worn crossbody in front or behind, unless the strap is tightened all the way down, the bag will make contact with your body only at the center or sides of the bag, depending on how it's currently hanging. For one, it doesn't conform to the body particularly well. The Day Sling 3 does have a relatively stiff shape, which leads to a few behaviours worth mentioning. when it is pinned beneath another strap). It seems like the buckle is particularly vulnerable to disengaging when the weight of the sling is not pulling down on it (i.e. Since the sling was pinned beneath the shoulder strap, it didn't fall off of me, but it did cause me to be wary of the fidlock buckle in that situation the future. This caused a situation in which the strap of the sling was pinned beneath the shoulder strap, and when I bent over to wash my hands, the sling itself was resting on the duffel, and the fidlock buckle released. I was wearing the sling in conjunction with Aer's Travel Weekender, and I had the sling on my back and the shoulder strap of the travel weekender over my other shoulder, crossbody-style. After six weeks of use, I was ready to declare this a non-issue, and then I was on a layover yesterday when it finally happened to me for the first time: the buckle disengaged while I had the sling on. When I was first comparison shopping slings, one of the concerns that made me wary was that many people mentioned the fidlock buckle on the sling becoming undone unexpectedly. This is my first real sling, and I'd never go back to putting all my daily junk into my pockets. A while back I finally pulled the trigger on the Aer Day Sling 3 - X-Pac, and after writing a review for it in my head for much of the past six weeks while using it, I've found the time to put words to the page.
